Trinidad & Tobago Coalition
for Tobacco Control
In 1998 the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Centres for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC),
and Partners initiated the Global Tobacco Surveillance and Monitoring Porgrams.
The World Health Organisation Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) is the first Treaty negotiated under the auspices of the World Health Organisation and has over 168 signatorties in 2004. It contains measures to reduce demand as well as supply of Tobacco to protect Global Health.
The Trinidad and Tobago Coalition Against Tobacco is a network of stakeholders who support the World Health Organisation and FCTC to make Trinidad & Tobago healthier by advocating for reduction and eventual elimination of this highly hazardous substance that poisons our citizens and contribute to their morbidity and mortality.
